To give you an update on the German Telco Market: Here is the fixed line market in Germany – 10 Years after liberalisation:

• 82,9 % Deutsche Telekom
• 7,4 % Arcor
• 3,4 % Hansenet (includes Alice)
• 1,9 % Versatel (includes Troploys)
• 1,0 % Ewetel
• 1,0 % Netcologne
• 0,5 % M-Net
• 1,9 % others

Interseting though, the German Monoploy from Deutsche Telekom ist still existant if you see the numbers by Deutsche telekom. They still own 83% market share in fixed line Telecommunications which is a big chunk. But they also offer most jobs in this sector.
